NOTE: US passport holders do not need a visa to travel to Kazakhstan for tourist or business for up to 30 calendar days starting from July 15, 2015 until further notice.
NOTE: Tourist visas are issued only for a single Entry and for one month and cannot be extended in Kazakhstan.

Tourist visa
Gather every required document below for this tourist visa. A missing item delays consulate filing.
Required documents
Use this list for the file. Non-U.S. citizens must add status documents with the passport.
Passport
Must be signed and valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended stay.
The applicant must submit either a
notarized Copy of Alien Registration Card (Green Card) -or- evidence of legal status in USA (valid visa plus I-94 in passport)
Visa application form
Applications will not be accepted if they are not typed. Please do not leave any blanks, applications that are not fully completed will be rejected by the consulate at the applicants expense.
Photos
Provide 2 color passport-type photographs with a white background.
- Size 2 × 2 inches, full face, plain white background with no shadows.
- Eyes open and looking at the camera; neck, chin, nose, forehead, both ears, and eyes must be visible.
- Natural expression with mouth closed, no smile or frown.
- No glasses, hats, scarves, or hair clips (religious or medical exceptions need a statement).
- Use printed photos from a reputable source, home or office printer copies are not accepted.
- Invalid format photos will be rejected and delay submission.
Letter of request
A letter with a request to issue a visa addressed to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Kazakhstan. Please, indicate your name, the purpose of your trip, your contact in Kazakhstan, the dates of your planned trip, and places to be visited.
Proof of travel & Hotel reservation
Please provide a copy of your flight itinerary and a hotel reservation.
Business visa

A Business Letter of Guarantee is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:
“Consulate of Kazakhstan / Houston TX”.
Please, indicate your name, the purpose of your trip, your contact in Kazakhstan, the dates of your planned trip, and places to be visited.

Letter of invite
Official invitation from authorized organization in the Kazakhstan. The organization must be duly registered in Kazakhstan.
The invitation must state your name, dates of the visit, and cities to be visited. Organization in Kazakhstan must also have confirmation sent by the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan to their Embassy in Washington on your behalf.

Health record
HIV test certificate for those applying for a visa for a duration of stay over 3 months.
Ship your documents
Please use FedEx Priority Overnight or UPS Priority Overnight unless the visa type asks you to email scans.
